THE BRIEF

Sensorium was a self-initiated project inspired by The Senses: Design Beyond Vision. It explored the concept of a multisensory dining experience where sound, scent, touch and taste converge to heighten perception beyond sight.

RESEARCH + CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

One of the novel’s radical ideas is that flavour is an illusion, constructed by the sensory stimuli that surround us.

With this in mind, each dish on the menu was paired with sensory cues designed to enhance its flavour; creating custom audio tracks to complement each course, and designing cutlery to draw out mouth-feel.

The brand identity and promotional materials were developed as a multisensory system, expressed through tactile typography, braille textures and visceral photography.
